MMG Client, Mini Mania, to Sponsor three SCCA Racing
Campaigns
Nevada
City, CA February 12, 2004: Mini Mania, the
leading manufacturer and distributor of both BMW MINI
and classic Mini auto parts and accessories,
announces that the Mini Mania brand name will be
increasingly familiar sight at race tracks across the
country.
Mini Mania will
continue its sponsorship of Bill Gilcrease from Costa
Mesa, CA and his classic Mincomp prepared Mini Cooper
GT5 in SCCA National competition. Gilcreases
familiar green and yellow Mini has been affiliated
with Mini Mania for the past 12 years. Mini
Manias continuation of sponsorship of the crowd
favorite is reflective of Mini Manias
traditional and on-going service in the classic Mini
market. Gilcreases Mini Mania sponsored Mini
will be competing across the west coast with
anticipated return entry in the SCCA National
"Run-offs" in October at Mid-Ohio.
Gilcreases next race is February 21 at Willow
Springs in California.
In addition, Mini
Mania will be a sponsor of Brad Davis new BMW
MINI Cooper "S" in SCCA National
competition on the east coast. Brad Davis, from
Summerville, South Carolina, is a new member of the
Mini Mania sponsored teams. Davis anticipates
competing in the SCCA "Run-offs" joining
Gilcrease and doubling the visibility for the Mini
Mania brand at the prestigious National Championships
event. Davis will next compete at the SCCA National
at Carolina Motorsport Park on February 21.
Rounding out the
primary racing properties of Mini Manias racing
calendar is Brian Garfield from Herndon, Virginia who
will compete his MINI Cooper "S" in G-Stock
at SCCA Solo II events along the eastern half of the
country, culminating in the Solo II National
Championships held in Topeka, Kansas in September.
Garfield will be competing at the Solo II event in
Atlanta, GA on February 14.
"Were
excited to have such an outstanding and varied
collection of racing vehicles carrying the Mini Mania
brand name," said Mini Mania president, Don
Racine. "What we learn on the race track is of
real importance to our company and the products we
offer our customers. We look forward to an exciting
2004 MINI/Mini racing season."
The Mini Mania
sponsored MINI/Minis, in addition to Mini
Manias own fleet of test vehicles, are often
used as product testing platforms for a new
generation of performance parts. What is developed on
the race track will be continually redesigned and
engineered for performance parts in the future. The
competition adds real-life feedback under the most
adverse conditions. As an example, Mini Manias
Stage III Performance Upgrade Kit was developed
through this type of R&D and is now available to
MINI owners worldwide.
